Product Description

Maestra Selection No. 3 is Maestra Tequilera Ana Maria Romero's homage to the tradition and history of tequila, incorporating tools and techniques pulled straight from the spirit's earliest origins. Fully mature Blue Weber agaves de semilla are grown in Jamay, Jalisco along the shoreline of Lago de Chapala, then slowly cooked in an oven built from volcanic stone sourced from Popocatépetl. The cooked agave is crushed by a tahona carved from that same stone before fermenting in wooden tanks with fiber left in, exactly as it would have been generations ago.

Once fermentation is complete, the spirit is carefully distilled in copper pot stills, then stabilized in clay pots for 15 days before bottling. Bottled at a robust 50% ABV, Maestra Selection No. 3 showcases the complexity and richness of cooked agave in a way that feels older, earthier, and more mineral-driven than a standard blanco — a direct link back to tequila's beginnings.

Mijenta recommends sipping this release neat, slowly, to let its full weight and texture unfold.
