It displays classic Italian aromas of cherry, blackberry, and plum, with notes of sage, cocoa, and vanilla. The wine is aged in oak casks, contributing to its spicy character of vanilla and chocolate. Nero d'Avola is Sicily's most widely planted red grape and performs well both as a single varietal bottling and in blends.
