Product Description

Veuve Clicquot Rosé is produced in Reims, in the heart of the Champagne appellation of northeastern France, where the house has operated continuously since 1772. The cuvée is built primarily from Pinot Noir, with contributions from Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, sourced from a network of vineyards across the Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne, and Côte des Blancs — three sub-regions whose contrasting chalk and clay soils, exposures, and microclimates provide the raw material diversity that defines the Veuve Clicquot house style. The Champagne region's cool continental climate, moderated by its proximity to the forest of the Ardennes, preserves the high natural acidity essential to the méthode traditionnelle.

The rosé is produced using the assemblage method, in which a proportion of still red wine — sourced exclusively from Pinot Noir grown in Bouzy and other premier cru villages on the Montagne de Reims — is blended into the base wine prior to secondary fermentation. This approach, rather than saignée, allows the cellar team precise control over color intensity and red fruit character vintage to vintage. Secondary fermentation occurs in the bottle, building the fine, persistent mousse characteristic of the style, followed by extended aging on the lees before disgorgement and dosage. The Cooler Box presentation is designed to maintain the wine at serving temperature upon delivery.

The palate opens with red berry and fresh stone fruit — strawberry, raspberry, and a hint of white peach — supported by the fine, chalky effervescence that extended lees aging produces. The texture is creamy and persistent, with Chardonnay contributing a lifted, citrus-driven acidity that balances the Pinot Noir's broader fruit character. The finish is clean and moderately long, closing on brioche, light mineral chalk, and a fading red fruit note that is the hallmark of the house's rosé expression.
