Tequila Ocho Anejo Barrel Select Ferrand Cognac Cask Edition - 750ml

Tequila Ocho is the brand that pioneered terroir in tequila, producing single-estate, single-vintage expressions under the direction of master distiller Carlos Camarena. This Añejo Barrel Select is a limited edition from the Las Raíces estate, a 2024 release aged in Ferrand cognac casks, a rare pairing of Jalisco agave and French cognac cooperage. It is made from 100% Blue Weber agave from a single estate, roasted slowly in brick ovens, crushed by tahona and distilled in small batches with no additives.

The cognac casks give the tequila a softer, more fruit-driven and elegant profile than a typical American-oak añejo, with a pale golden color. On the nose, expect cooked agave, dried apricot and orchard fruit, vanilla and delicate oak. The palate is silky, with honeyed agave, baked pear, light caramel and gentle baking spice, finishing smooth and long with a trace of grape and soft oak.

Bottled at 44.4% ABV, it is best sipped neat in a glencairn or snifter so the cognac cask character can show. Because each Barrel Select is bottled in limited quantity, it is a bottle for tequila collectors and cognac lovers alike.
