Domaine Renaud Boyer is a small Burgundy estate based in Meursault, farming its vines with a minimal, low-intervention approach that has earned it a devoted following among Burgundy lovers. Its Bourgogne Rouge is made from Pinot Noir and shows how expressive an entry-level Burgundy can be in careful hands.
In the glass it is a bright ruby. The nose is fresh and floral, with red cherry, wild strawberry, raspberry and a hint of forest floor. The palate is light to medium-bodied and silky, with juicy red fruit, gentle spice, fine tannins and a mineral, savory finish. Serve it slightly cool.
Pair it with roast chicken, duck, mushroom dishes, charcuterie or soft cheeses.
