Les Enfants Sauvages, meaning "wild children" in French, is a winery in the Côtes Catalanes region of France (Roussillon) known for its natural, organic, and biodynamic winemaking practices, producing wines that reflect their terroir and a dedication to authenticity.
Carolin and Nikolaus Bantlin, who moved from Germany to the south of France, established the winery in the Fitou region, near the border with Spain.
Winemaking Philosophy:
They are committed to natural, organic, and biodynamic winemaking, aiming to produce wines that are authentic and expressive of the terroir. Vineyard Practices: They cultivate their vines in the traditional "goblet" style and use natural alternatives to pesticides and herbicides, such as nettle, chamomile, and horsetail preparations.
Grape Varieties:
They use a variety of grape varieties, including Syrah, Cinsault, Mourvèdre, Grenache, Carignan, and Muscat.
Wine Styles:
Their wines are known for their fresh, fruity character, with notes of red berries, plums, and dried herbs
