Product Description

Tierra de Ensueño Reposado Batch 2 is produced at the estate's 3,000-acre property in Jesús María, in the Los Altos highlands of Jalisco at an elevation exceeding 7,000 feet. The iron-rich red clay soils and pronounced diurnal temperature variation of the region define the growing conditions for the estate's blue Weber agave, harvested at full maturity to ensure the depth of sugar concentration and aromatic complexity that the highland terroir makes available. Each batch is produced in limited and non-repeating quantities, with Batch 2 representing a discrete expression of the vintage and the specific agave lots selected for that release.

Production is guided by Master Distiller Sergio Cruz and Master Blender Oscar Vasquez Camarena using only three ingredients — agave, water, and yeast — with no additives or artificial compounds introduced at any stage. The mature piñas are slow-roasted in stone and brick ovens before open-air fermentation in stainless steel tanks, allowing the ambient environment of the Jesús María estate to contribute to the conversion. Following double distillation in copper pot stills, the spirit is rested in wheated bourbon casks sourced from American oak — the same rare cask type used across the Ensueño line — for a maturation period calibrated to develop wood-integrated character without displacing the agave's natural expression.

Batch 2 opens on the nose with cinnamon, brine, and cooked agave, a combination that is direct and clearly highland in origin. The palate follows in kind — warm agave, cinnamon, and a thread of black pepper develop through the mid-palate alongside vanilla and light oak from the wheated bourbon wood. The texture is medium-full and coating, with a finish that is warm and deliberate, closing on agave, pepper, and a lingering vanilla note that reflects the cask's contribution without overpowering the spirit's underlying character.
