Lagertha is the flagship hoppy pilsner from Enegren Brewing Company, a family-run craft brewery in Moorpark, California that specializes in German-style beers. Named for the legendary shield maiden, it pairs the crisp, clean backbone of a classic pilsner with a brighter, more aromatic hop character, and it is now available in convenient 16oz four-packs.
The beer pours bright and golden. The aroma is lively with hop-forward citrus and fruity notes, with hints of honey and biscuit from the malt. On the palate it is crisp, light and complex, with a gentle malt sweetness that gives way to a dry, refreshing finish and a pleasant lingering bitterness.
