The Balvenie Caribbean Cask 14 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is matured in traditional whisky oak casks before being transferred to casks that previously held Caribbean rum for a final period of maturation. After 14 years, it is finished in American oak casks that were previously filled with a carefully selected blend of West Indian rums. This finishing process imparts a warm, tropical richness that balances the Distillery’s characteristic honeyed sweetness with a subtle, rum-inspired depth. The result is a whisky with an inviting amber-gold hue, inviting and complex on the nose.
On the aroma, you’ll encounter rich, creamy toffee intertwined with fresh fruit notes, a hint of vanilla, and a gentle spice that hints at the Caribbean influence. The palate reveals a rounded mouthfeel, with vanilla sweetness and soft oak, accompanied by a fruity character that evolves with time and temperature. Subtle tropical fruit, coconut, and warm spice emerge as the whisky rests on the tongue, creating a harmonious profile that is both approachable and nuanced. The finish is soft and lingering, with a lingering sweetness that gradually fades into a warm, comforting resinous note and a whisper of oak.
