Sipsy

Volcan De Mi Tierra’s latest small-batch release delivers a 100% blanco tequila crafted entirely with the legendary 18th-century Tahona Stone method. This traditional process, using a two-ton volcanic stone wheel to crush mature agave, yields a richer, agave-forward liquid with a perfectly balanced, silky-smooth finish. The result is a Blanco that honors the roots of tequila-making while showcasing a refined, contemporary profile.
Marcelino Lucke, Volcan de mi Tierra’s maestro tequilero, explains the approach behind the new expression: “To craft Blanco Tahona, we crush our agaves using a two-ton volcanic stone wheel (named tahona), true to the ancient way of making tequila.” The Tahona technique imparts a distinctive mouthfeel and depth, capturing the full sweetness of the agave with a clean, vibrant character.
The liquid is described as crisp, herbal, and subtly sweet, with nuanced notes of spice, roasted agave, dulce de leche, almond, and a gentle touch of light smokiness. On the palate, it delivers a balanced, lingering finish that invites another sip. It is ideally enjoyed neat to savor its purity, or over ice to reveal its evolving flavors as the ice lightly opens the aroma.
Volcan De Mi Tierra’s range is crafted without additives and uses 100% blue agave, reflecting a commitment to authenticity and artisanal craft. Each bottle embodies the brand’s dedication to traditional methods, high-quality raw materials, and a tequila experience that is both timeless and modern.
