Sipsy

Served chilled, this Classic Junmai Sake offers a very fine, velvety texture with harmonious aromas and flavors that unfold gracefully on the palate. Expect delicate notes of macadamia nuts, spices such as cardamom and nutmeg from chai-inspired spice, a touch of vanilla, and a creamy suggestion of heavy cream. Subtle hints of freshly sliced bread and a gentle, bread-kind aroma weave through the experience, creating a comforting, enveloping profile. When chilled, the sake presents a refined balance between richness and brightness, with a soft, silky mouthfeel that invites multiple sips to reveal new facets.
If served at room temperature, the profile shifts to more pronounced mineral character and dairy-like undertones. Creme fraiche and sourdough bread emerge, accompanied by custard-like sweetness and a crisp, refreshing apple-like lift. The umami note becomes more evident, giving depth and longevity to the finish, while the texture remains smooth and approachable—neither heavy nor thin, but pleasantly rounded and expressive.
Gently warming the sake to around 100°F (approximately 38°C) strengthens the texture and intensifies the flavors. The umami deepens and becomes more persistent, while the surrounding creaminess and softness of the base remain present, creating a richer, more comforting mouthfeel without losing balance. This warmth reveals a layered complexity that can pair beautifully with a range of foods.
