Score Tequila Reposado Canada Limited Edition is a commemorative release from a single Jalisco Highlands distillery established in 1908 and operated by fourth-generation master distillers — a production lineage that predates most of the brands now associated with premium tequila. The Canada edition is one of three country-specific releases produced to honor the host nations of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with Mexico, the United States, and Canada each represented by a distinct hand-painted ceramic decanter shaped like a soccer ball and adorned with nation-specific artwork. For Canada — making its first FIFA World Cup appearance in 36 years as both host and participant — the release marks a convergence of cultural moments that the bottle's collectible design is purpose-built to commemorate. The distillery's gravity-driven production process, which uses the natural slope of the Jalisco Highlands terrain to move liquid through the production facility, reflects a commitment to reducing the operation's carbon footprint without departing from its traditional craft foundation.
The tequila inside is produced from 100% blue Weber agave grown for a full seven years in the Highlands of Jalisco — a maturation cycle that builds the concentrated sugars and complex vegetal character that distinguish Highland agave from its valley-grown counterpart. The piñas are double distilled in copper pot stills before entering a combination of French and American oak barrels for the reposado resting period, a dual-cask approach that draws the best from both wood types: the French oak contributing a more refined, floral oak influence while the American barrels provide the vanilla and caramel backbone associated with the bourbon-seasoned wood tradition. The finished spirit is additive-free and bottled at 40% ABV.
The nose opens with roasted agave, light vanilla, and toasted oak with a touch of warm baking spice. The palate is smooth and balanced — cooked agave sweetness, honey, and caramel moving through a rounded mid-palate with subtle oak influence and a gentle warmth that the dual-cask aging produces without adding weight. The finish is clean and silky, closing on sweet agave and a light spice that fades slowly. Whether opened for the tournament or kept as a piece of the moment, the Canada edition delivers on both counts.
