The Roman Candle Pinot Noir is a partnership between winemaker John Grochau and importer Communal Brands. The fruit is sourced from the Van Duzzer corrider where oceanic winds funnel into the valley driying out the vine canopy which decreases fungus pressure, making the area highly attractive for grape growing. This wind protection allows the grape skins to thicken leading to an abundance of color, tannin and acidity. Here you have a hand harvested Pinot Noir bursting with cranberry, strawberry, red apple and umami with a hint of underlying smokiness. This one has a natural aspect to it without the funk. With spring lurking around the corner, put a slight chill on it and take it to your next BBQ.
