Sipsy

This is a signed bottle by Pedro Camarena.
Primo 1861 Blanco Tequila comes from the renowned El Pandillo distillery, long celebrated for its craft and heritage. The name 1861 carries a deeper meaning: it marks the birth year of Pedro Camarena Ramírez, a pivotal figure who would go on to establish the first Tequila distillery in Arandas. That original venture, however, was lost to a devastating fire during the Mexican Revolution, leaving behind only traces of its legacy. Today, the heavy stone tahona—the traditional stone mill used to crush agave—rests on display at El Pandillo, a tangible reminder of the distillery’s roots and the enduring artisanal spirit that defines this region.
In a gesture that bridges generations, Felipe Camarena invited Pedro’s great-great-grandson to reconnect with his ancestral origins in Tequila. This invitation sparked the creation of Primo 1861, a line that honors lineage, resilience, and the timeless craft of tequila making. Each bottle embodies a commitment to tradition while embracing modern refinement, capturing the pure, crisp character of the blanco style while paying homage to the family’s storied past.
