Clovis Côtes du Rhône is a natural wine crafted by Rémi Pouizin, a biodynamic vintner based in Visan, the northernmost pocket of the Southern Rhône. This bottling is made by blending grapes from Pouizin’s own estate with fruit from three other organic producers, all located within a compact 10-kilometer radius of the winery. The result is a wine that reflects a shared commitment to soil health, head-pruning precision, and careful handling from vineyard to bottle. Each parcel is treated with respect for biodiversity, with practices designed to encourage balance in the vineyard, limit interventions in the cellar, and preserve a sense of place in the final blend.
The wine presents itself as a subtle, approachable expression of the Côtes du Rhône appellation, offering a bright, fruity profile that invites sipping without ceremony. Its character comes from a thoughtful mix of Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, and Carignan, selected to complement one another: Grenache provides warmth and red-fruited sweetness, Syrah contributes structure and spice, Cinsault adds perfume and luminosity, and Carignan brings crisp acidity and a touch of earth. The result is a versatile, food-friendly red that can pair with everything from rustic Provençal stews to grilled vegetables and lighter meats. Overall, Rémi Pouizin’s Côtes du Rhône embodies a gentle, natural winemaking ethos—minimal intervention, careful sourcing from nearby organic partners, and a drinkable, expressive wine that celebrates the region’s viticultural community.
